She’s not singing Chandu Ke Chacha as a perky newbie part of teeny-bop pop band Aasma like she did almost a decade ago. Now classically trained and looper-friendly Janis Joplin/Alanis Morissette vocalist Vasuda Sharma’s spirit is attuned towards self-discovery and romance. That’s where the recent Berklee College of Music graduate had us believe at her recent sit-down, unplugged gig Acoustic Tuesdays at The Little Door, Andheri on April 2, 2013. Sharma’s band for the night comprised of Neil Gomes on violin, Zohran Miranda on guitar and Sankarshan Kini on cajon. Through the one-hour set Sharma played stripped down versions of her tacks from her upcoming, crowd-funding sourced album “Attuned Spirits.” But besides her regular Joplin/Mrissette covers, Sharma sang Swedish House Mafia’s melodic Don’t You Worry Child and Britney Spears punchy Hit Me Baby One More Time.
