The second edition of the weekly curated indie night at The Hive features The Co-Workers and Seemingly That, entry: pay what you want
There’s two ways to be in a rock band- you either have a band that plays a lot of original material or you have a band that plays covers. In either case what you have at your disposal is music that has been inspired from time on end. PopSplat’s weekly indie gig Standing Room Only, in it’s second session, will host cover band The Co-Workers and alt rockers Seemingly That.
The Co-Workers are a classic rock cover band, whose members include Aking Newmyh and Kirk Coutinho on guitar and vocals, and Siddesh Sawant on percussion. A mint-fresh band, they will pop their stage cherry at Standing Room Only. In a style typical of most young rock bands, the members of the band were first friends whose common interests in music got them to form a band. Among their influences, The Co-Workers consider bands like Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Periphery, Jason Becker, Alter Bridge, Porcupine Tree, and Thin Lizzy among their favourites.
Seemingly That is an electronic / industrial/ vocal band whose members include Adriel George and Pruthu Parab. This particular gig will see them jamming with Sheldon Fonseca on vocals.Seemingly That are a duo experienced in music.Versatility and the quick ability to make music ,and mold it to whatever they want it to sound is something that the duo are excellent at. while they are a relatively new “band” band, George and PArab have made plenty of scores for ads, jingles and short films.They have also, in the past worked with notable music directors like Ram Sampath. Their vocalist for the night, Sheldon Fonseca’s Music has often been described as “diverse and elevating, alternative, original and psychedelic”. That music by itself is something meant to take you on a journey is but common understanding. Fonseca’s vocals however are set to take you on an unconventional high along the plains of trippiness.
